Aldo Moroni is a Minnesota based artist with a 45 year practice in the fine arts. I think of my work as narrative sculpture. I employ any medium or technique to achieve my goals.

Artists Statement

I believe that art is a social activity involving a dialog between the creator and the audience. This can be accomplished post mortem. But, I have found that I have more fun if I am still alive.

I create imaginary places. If a 7 year old sees one of my works the child may be enchanted by its small scale iconography and narrative. At the same time a 70 year old professor may encounter one of my works and have a much deeper interaction with the work of art. My works are layered in content and meaning. The audience member becomes engaged in a shared experience enabled through empathy, accordingly the viewer is able to respond in an appropriate way within the context of the users understanding. For me both experiences are valid.

I use any technology to accomplish my goal. I study history to inform the work, however I am essentially a fictional narrative sculptor and so the story goes.

Hello friends, we have an announcement to make.

The long-term project M.EX. can’t continue as planned due to Aldo being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The project is going to change into a social art project and renamed to “Blind Cortez”
